GS8VL is the Club Callsign of the GMDX Group, Scotland’s DX Association. It is activated by a number of members each year.
During 2014 the special prefix GA8VL was used to celebrate “Homecoming Scotland” and GR8VL was used to celebrate the Coronation of HM King Charles III in May 2023.
Iain Sinclair GM8VL, the original holder of this callsign, became a silent key in January 2014 a few months before his 100th Birthday. His daughter Hilli has kindly consented to his call being reassigned to the GMDX Group. We are proud to have this call in fond remembrance of Iain.
