GMDX Winter Challenge: Final scores
Congratulations to John GM0OPS who took the lead in week 1 and maintained it throughout February. John had the most DXCC worked on SSB (115) and also the most on digital (179) for a grand total of 202 DXCC Country Total All Mode.
Well done also to Duncan EA5S has been in 2nd every week while attempting to chase down John.
3rd was Gavin GM0GAV who gave everyone a week of a start and then only operated in CW but still managed 176 DXCC.
4th and 5th overall are Ian GM4HBG (150) and John GM8DYT (143) .Well done both. Ian is a QRP guy so I think this might be even more impressive.
Thanks for all the logs. It seems that the good conditions tempted many op’s to be really committed over the activity period with the top 11 all getting DXCC. I hope it was enjoyable for all regardless of final positions.
It would be great if op’s would send in a report of their Winter Challenge for a GMDX Digest article. A photo or two your station / antenna would also be appreciated. This may also appear on the GMDX website.
Finally, I hope to run the Summer VHF Challenge starting 1st April and hopefully coinciding with the start of the sporadic E season. Further emails will confirm.
